Pier Michele Roviera

 

Pier Michele Roviera is a Senior Executive with more than 25 years’ international experience in space systems development & operations, both on governmental programs and commercial ones, including the “New Space Ecosystem”. He is currently a Program Director at Blue Origin, responsible for executing the design, development, test and production of the New Glenn launch vehicle upper stage fluid systems, encompassing all aspects of program management including cost, schedule, technical design, risk management, continuous improvement and adaptations to the new customers’ requirements. Previously, he served as Sr. Principal Engineer – Operations, at Virgin Orbit. From 2001 to 2017 he worked at ESA-European Space Agency, Space Transportation Directorate, in several engineering and management positions, serving as Sr. Advisor for Space Transportation Systems at the ESA Washington DC Office from 2014 to 2018, fostering international cooperation between Europe and the United States. He started his professional career at Arianespace (now ArianeGroup) Operations Directorate in France and French Guiana, from 1993 to 2001.


Pier Michele graduated in Aeronautical Engineering from the Politecnico of Turin, Italy, and was a European Union “Erasmus” Scholar at ISAE-Sup’Aero in Toulouse, France, for his Master Thesis.
